    The 4th Masonic District Golf Tournament - Goebel Thacker Memorial / DDGM Cup was held on September 6th and our lodge was well represented.  In fact, we had two winners.  I had the pleasure to be partnered with George Harrington, III, who won the "Closest to the Pin" drive by placing a close within 15th of the hole on his drive from the tee.  Then, our newest EA John White won the raffle prize to Mission BBQ. This was one of our sponsors along with House of Mercy and I encourage you to support both of these organizations.

   

    The month of October will be very busy with many activities.  So come out to the lodge to support all events.  At the October 5th Stated Meeting we have several special presentations.  First, the Community Builder Award presentation to Dr. Donald Frischkorn, Principal of Mayfield Intermediate School.  He has been a long time educator in the Manassas community and has a great vision for future students.  Then we will recognize two of our members for 50 years of service to the Fraternity.  Honors will bestowed upon Brother Robert Lynn Gustavas and Brother David Lee Solesbee for this significant milestone.

    On October 5th, we have two events.  First, we have a spot at the Manassas Fall Festival just as we did in the Spring to set up an information table.  Please come out to represent the Lodge and answer questions and inform people about our fraternity.  Then that evening at 6pm Most Worshipful William Edward Hershey, Jr. will make his Official Visit to the 4th Masonic District.  It takes place at the Fairfax Police County Building.  Let me know if you plan to attend the event to meet and greet the GMrand Master.

    On October 12th, the annual Family Day at the Masonic Home of Virginia will be held starting at 10am.  This is always a great time so please plan on attending to enjoy the tour and BBQ lunch.

    On October 18th, the Halloween Party takes place at 7pm.  Plan on attending in costume if you like and help the kids celebrate with “trunk-or-treat”!
