A message from the Worshipful Master
Greetings Brethren to your November Trestleboard. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Brethren I must tell you that our Lodge is having a fantastic year. The hard work and dedication of so many Brethren and their family members are the reason why. The Grand Lodge had an amazing Masonic Family Day in the early part of October, and without a doubt it was one of the largest in attendance. A great time was had by all and we were able to visit with our Manasseh Lodge family members Brother Jim McDonough and Ms. Penny Coyne.
This month is going to be no different than October and we start it off with the 240th Grand Lodge of Virginia’s Grand Annual Communication which will start on November 9th down in Richmond. Brethren, this is a Grand Lodge Communication that you won’t want to miss! District 4 will have their very own Right Worshipful William Edward Hershey, Jr. installed as the next Grand Master of Masons in Virginia. In addition to that, Worshipful James E. Kraut will be installed as our next District Deputy, plus to keep you all up to date, Cochran Lodge No. 271 will be joining District 4 and Herndon Lodge No. 264 will be moving.
To finish off the month of October the Lodge held it's annual Halloween bash with over seventy people in attendance and close to forty children who topped off the night with “Trunk or Treat.” We witnessed several great costumes including a firefighter, several super heroes, the Queen of Hearts, Teddy Roosevelt, a Roman soldier, Witches, and a Willie Nelson look a like riding a Pink Flamingo.
The lodge is extremely blessed with 2 awesome Masonic youth groups: the Rainbow Girls and our DeMolay boys. These groups are always working extremely hard to represent our lodge to the community in a positive manner and they always grateful to their sponsoring bodies. In the beginning of October these groups were at the Fall Jubilee and out in full force to show the community what a positive influence we are having on the youth of today. Citizens from all over complemented them and were impressed with them. As the Worshipful, I whole heartedly want to echo these sentiments and I want to pass along this message to our Brethren. Brethren if you have not been by theLodge as of late you need to come by and check out the extremely thoughtful and beautiful display of coffee accessories. The Worthy Advisor Kate Balint and her mother Joanne Balint had come up with an amazing way to say “Thank You” to the lodge for all its support. These warm and thoughtful individuals realize that the brothers love their coffee and set up a very generous offering of coffee accessories. Everything from candy to flavored syrups, creamers and other tasty treats for everyone to enjoy. I have had so many positive comments about this tray, that I wish to send out a great big “Thank You” to them and to all the youth. They are the future of our Lodge and Freemasonry.
Flags will be flown this month on behalf of Worshipful Brother Fred O. Baerenz. Worshipful Master of Waldeck Lodge No.674 Illinois
