A message from the Worshipful Master
Greetings brethren and welcome to your June Trestleboard. We have had an awesome month, Brethren. Our annual Strawberry Night was very successful, and the Grand Master, Gary Wallace Taylor was on hand to present two 25-year Masonic Veteran awards. A great big thank you goes out to our very own Wimodausis Chapter #106 Order of the Eastern Star for providing us an amazing meal. The appendant bodies really help support the lodge and I am eternally grateful for your support this year.
Prior to this month’s stated communication on June 1st, we will be presenting a community builder’s award to Manassas’s very own Mayor Hal Parrish. We were supposed to accomplish this last month, but a conflict occurred, and we are on track for this month. I would love to see everyone come out and show the Mayor just why his Father loved this Lodge so much!
Many of our Brethren have known Hal since he was a child, and I’m sure he would love to seed you all again.
On June 2nd the very next day we will show the mayor and the rest of the Manassas community that the Masons are an amazing asset to the community, by partnering with the Prince William County sheriff’s Office and conducting a Child I.D. at the spring “Train Days.” As always Brother Terry Fearnly has provided us with his Deputies and in helping the community so that no family should have to do with out proper identification for their children in times of emergencies.
I would like to thank Illustrious Larry Parks from kena Shrine for his generosity and cooperation in working with Manasseh lodge. Illustrious Parks was the key person as to why the Lodge has a new Vulcan stove in the kitchen. The shrine donated the stove and a kitchen prep table with a rack system to us, which is now in place in our kitchen. R. W. Lynwood Holbrook, R.W. Bill Costis and brothers Doyle meadows, Phil Sommers, Tom Costis, Doug Dulaney, Simeon Slayton. These Brothers were instrumental in seeing that this task came to fruition and I want to personally” Thank You.”
On a final note the lodge is conducting a survey of all the brethren. We need to know who would like to continue getting a hard copy of the Trestleboard versus that of an emailed version or both? Please contact Right Worshipful Carl H. Dunn at: secretary@manassehlodge182.org or contact the lodge at (703) 361-2326 or send correspondence to 9810 Cockrell Road, Manassas, Va. 20110-4112. Thank You all so much for your cooperation in this matter.
Flags will be flown this month on behalf of Frederick H. Baerenz, a 60 Year Masonic Veteran.
Fraternally,
Clarence H. Nidell
