Manasseh Stated Communication Change
A message from the Worshipful Master
GREETINGS FROM THE EAST
We had a great turn out for Wardens' Night and it was a very bust night too. We elected WB L.W. Bolton to receive Honorary Membership on the Lodge. Thanks for your years of dedication, devoted service, and being a key player on the building of our existing Lodge! It was great to see you in lodge! B James Penn Jones was also in lodge to receive his 50-Year Masonic Veterans Award - Congratulations for your contributions to the brotherhood! The September Communication fell on the Anniversary of 9-11 and the Lodge paused to remember those who died and were injured there, those who responded to the tragedy and those who went to fight the terrorists and were injured or died...
We also had a great program from B Terry Fearnley, the number two man in the Prince William County Sheriff's Office. He talked on the many programs that the Sheriff's Office has to support the elderly and those not able to help themselves in emergencies. He also presented Sheriff's coins to W "Doc" Mitchell, W John Phillips, W Clancy Nidell and B Rob McDaniel for the work in supporting the Child ID Program. B George Harrington arranged for Mr. Eddie Hicks to give us a presentation on the local needs for blood in our area. They were very informative talks - Thanks! In addition, the meal was provided by Jobs Daughters Bethel No. 55 of Woodbridge and they also had "Forget Me Not" pins for our brothers. Thanks to Caitlyn Joseph, the Honored Queen for your teams' super job!
B Chris Swihart moved up to take the East at the Stated and the entire line moved up to help make it a full and memorable evening! Thanks for all your hard work to get to this point!
Manasseh Lodge has two new Master Masons as a result of the One Day Conferral. B Warren Byers Watkins, III and B Allen Edward Long. It was indeed a long day and we will be working with them to get them through the Q's and A's. We will be giving them their dues cards and such at the November Stated. Congratulations!
Also, congratulations to B Doug Dulaney, the outgoing High Priest of Manassas Royal Arch Chapter No. 81! Thanks for all your support with the youth of the lodge!
In October, the Manasseh Lodge Past Masters will have a return performance at our Stated Communication. Please come out to show our appreciation for their past, present, and future support. We will be having our Founders' Day and MAHOVA Program. The Rainbow Girls will be cooking - so come and enjoy the evening and fellowship.
It is my sad duty to report that two more of our Brothers have been called to the Celestial Lodge above. Both will be missed and well remembered.
Brother Doctor Richard Melvin Ray
Born: October 19, 1930
Raised: September 9, 1966
Died: September 5, 2015
Brother Arnold Frederick Brown
Born: March 4, 1937
Raised: April 4, 1961 - Friendship Williams Lodge No. 400, Jenkin Town, PA
Died: September 18, 2015
Special thanks to WB Chris Nester, who accompanied me to Treadwell Lodge No. 213 for their Lodge of the High Vale, and B Bill Rieck, Sr. who accompanied me to Ashburn-Sterling Lodge No. 288 for their Stated Communication.
If anyone knows of a Brother that is "Ill of in Distress", please let me know or contact RW Linwood Lee Holbrook, Jr.
Remember - The November Stated is moved from Friday the 6th to Tuesday, the 3rd due to the Grand Annual Communication!
Those who wish to have flags flown in honor of a passed brother, please see the Lodge Secretary or myself. Glags flown this month are in honor of B Frank "E" Bolton of Manasseh Lodge No. 182, who was called to the Celestial Lodge on June 15.
Fraternally,

Bennett R. Hart
Worshipful Master
