A message from the Worshipful Master

GREETINGS FROM THE EAST

Definitely got some cold and wind in February...and snow too. All of RW Adam Wade's Official Visits have been made except to Hay Market, during which we will join him with our Fraternal Visit on Monday, March 9th. RW Wade's Program was presented on Grand Master Reese Edward Carroll, Jr.'s Theme, "Together, We Can Make A Difference." We also had the WB Jim Kraut, the District Education Officer and WB Scott Springer, the District Instructor of Work for their Annual Visits...both presentations were SUPER and everyone appreciated their visit and the work they do for the Lodge and the District.

Potomac Lodge No. 5, from Washington, D.C., will be at our Stated on the 6th of March. They will be brining the George Washington used to lay the Corner Stone of the U.S. Capitol on September 18, 1793. We weill have this presentation before opening the Lodge, so all guests who are not Master Masons can view it. RW Barry Constant will also give a presentation on U.S. Presidents who were Master Masons.

Community Service is really taking off!!! Manasseh Lodge has turned in the paperwork for a Community Builder Award and a Dan Beard Boy Scout Award. In addition, we will be sponsoring a Babe Ruth Baseball Team this year. More details to follow. To all those with college age children or relatives, the Masonic Scholarships Applications are now available online. Besides Manasseh Lodge's, Manassas Royal Arch Chapter has one and so does the Scottish Rite. Make sure those applications are fully filled out and turned in on time.

The Rainbow Girls have been extremely busy!!! Gigi Costis was installed as Worth Advisor. The Spaghetti Dinner was a HUGE success!!! Over 75 people attended and the Rainbow Girls exceeded their goal and donated over $700 to the "Give Kids the World Village" Foundation. They also had an ice skating evening and a sleepover. In March they will be cooking the dinner for the Manasseh Lodge Stated, hosting a St. Patrick's Day Party and performing a service project!! Great work and have fun!!!!

On Saturday, March 14th, Wimodausis Chapter No. 106, Order of Eastern Star, will install Joanne Stanto as Worthy Matron. All the best from Manasseh Lodge!!

On Monday nights we will be having Lodge Practices and would like to have as many Brothers attend and participate as possible. We are always looking for Brothers to do the lectures and for Fellowcrafts and Ruffians in the Master Mason Degree and to learn other parts as well. Please consider it - the time and fellowship will be well worth your effort.

There will be two brothers Passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft this month and there were two in February. In addition, we will have the C.A. Sinclair, Jr., Area Ritual School at Hay Market Lodge the 27th and 28th of March. This is not only for those in the Line, but for all those interested Brothers as well.

If anyone knows of a Brother that is "Ill or in Distress", please let me know or contact RW Linwood Lee Holbrook, Jr.

Those who wish to have flags flown, please see the Lodge Secretary or myself. The cost is $200 for three months.

Fraternally,

Bennett R. Hart
Worshipful Master
