GREETINGS FROM THE EAST

    Happy New Year Brethren and Masonic Families! Thank you all for the great turnout for our Installation of the Manasseh Officers for 2015. It is a great honor to be added to the long line of those who have served here in the past. We look forward to an exciting Masonic Year and hope you will be able to attend some of these great events being planned by your officers. Our Christmas Party was very well attended and everyone had a great time, thanks to Right Worshipful Bob Williams for his usual "Job Well Done". Rob McDaniel and his Lodge Elves did a super job in decorating and the games and cookies!!! We are indeed thankful to have our own Right Worshipful Bill Costis do his annual reading of "The Night Before Christmas". THANKS TO ALL!!!!

    The Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, Most Worshipful Reese Carroll, Jr., whose theme is "Together, We Can Make A Difference", sent a holiday note: "...We gather together during these days to celebrate how proud we are of our membership in Freemasonry in general and our lodges in particular. We celebrate a job well done by the outgoing Worshipful Master and his officers and the promise and opportunities that a new year always bring with it. I congratulate and thank all those who have served the Craft this past year and look forward to working with those selected to serve for the year to come. Enjoy this time of reflection and celebration my Brethren." Worshipful Brother Chancy Nidell did a super job in leading the lodge. He was awarded the "Grand Master's Award of Excellence". (One of only five lodges in Virginia), The Hillman Award and the Levy Award. Manasseh Lodge was also one of the few that had a net growth in membership. The Grand Master will also be attending our Strawberry Night on May 30th. His Official Visit to the 4th Masonic District will be August 8th - so mark your calendars now!!!

    January will be a busy month for Manasseh Lodge. Remember our Stated Communication has been moved to January 9th, at which time we will be receiving Right Worshipful Edward Allen Wade, District Deputy Grand Master for our 4th Masonic District. In addition, we will be having a Fellowcraft Degree and a Master Mason Degree.

    On January 23rd, Manassas Royal Arch Chapter No. 81 (Brother Doug Dulaney) will be hosting on behalf of the 17th Capitular District (Brother Chris Swihard) the Official Visit of the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of Royal Arch Masons in Virginia, our own Worshipful Brother Donal Leo McAndrews. We are looking for a great turnout!!!!!

    On Saturday, January 17th, Lisa Elliott will be installed as Royal Matron in Destiny Court No. 14, Order of Amaranth and on Sunday, January 18th, Gigi Costis will be installed as Worthy Advisor in the Manassas Assembly No. 13 of the International Order of Rainbow For Girls. Congratulations to both!!!! We wish you the best in your upcoming terms!!!! Let's have a good turnout from the Lodge to support!!!!

    Flags are flown this month courtesy of James D Tedder - Thank you very much!!! Those who wish to have flags flown, please see the Lodge Secretary or myself. The cost is $200.00 for three months.
